‘是......的’ it is ... that-Chinese Grammar 3

This pattern is to emphasize the time ,place, method/way ， or purpose of one certain action.Usually the action took place in the paste .

 eg. (一)   emphasize the time :
               他是去年从东方大学毕业的。

    （二）emphasize the place :
               我是在图书馆看见刘老师的。

     （三）emphasize the method :
             我们是坐火车去哈尔滨的。

     （四）emphasize the purpose :
               我是来看我朋友的。
